âSerialâ Podcast Star Adnan Syed Sees Murder Conviction Tossed
A Baltimore judge ordered the release of Adnan Syed yesterday after overturning Syedâs conviction for the 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee â a case that was chronicled in the hit podcast âSerial."
At the request of prosecutors who had uncovered new evidence, Circuit Court Judge Melissa Phinn ordered that Syedâs conviction be vacated as she approved the release of the now-41-year-old who has spent more than two decades behind bars.
- Phinn ruled that the state violated its legal obligation to share evidence that could have bolstered Syedâs defense.
- She ordered Syed to be placed on home detention with GPS location monitoring.
- The judge also said the state must decide whether to seek a new trial date or dismiss the case within 30 days.
âAll right Mr. Syed," Phinn said as the hearing ended. "Youâre free to join your family." Stateâs Attorney Marilyn Mosby said investigators are waiting for the results of âDNA analysisâ before determining whether to seek a new trial date or throw out the case against Syed and âcertify his innocence.â Syed was serving a life sentence after he was convicted of strangling 18-year-old Lee, whose body was found buried in a Baltimore park.

Instagram Model Claims She Had A Year-Long Affair With Adam Levine
It was recently revealed that Adam Levine and wife Behati Prinsloo are expecting their third child, but a new report suggests Adam hasnât exactly been a perfect husband.
An Instagram model named Sumner Strohl claims in a TikTok video that she had an affair with the married Maroon 5 frontman, noting they were âseeing each other for about a year.âÂ
âEmbarrassed I was involved with a man with this utter lack of remorse and respect,â she posted, alongside a video, which seems to show Instagram DMâs from Levine telling her sheâs âhot.â She said after they lost touch he got in contact with her again, sharing DMs in which Adam allegedly asked if she would be okay if he named his upcoming baby Sumner if it was a boy.
âEssentially, I was having an affair with a man who was married to a Victoriaâs Secret model,â she wrote, noting that she felt âexploitedâ and she was âeasily manipulate.â
As for why sheâs coming forward, Sumner claims itâs only because a friend who she had shared the exchanges with in confidence attempted to sell them to a tabloid.Â
So far neither Levine or Prinsloo have commented on the accusations. You can see Stroh's post to the right.
