CHARITY DECLINES DONATIONS FROM JAMIE LYNN SPEARS' BOOK SALES

Jamie Lynn Spears has faced some backlash over her new memoir, “Things I Should Have Said”... including from her own sister Britney Spears. Jamie Lynn had planned to donate proceeds from the book to mental health nonprofit This Is My Brave, but they’ve turned down the offer.

In a statement posted to Instagram on Monday, the charity announced they’d be “taking action” in response to public outcry over the donation, as Jamie Lynn takes heat amid her sister’s longtime battle to end her conservatorship. The timing of the book, not to mention the scrapped title referencing Britney’s lyrics “I Must Confess,” put a bad taste in some folks’ mouths, and now This Is My Brave says they won’t be accepting the donation.

A source tells “People” that Jamie Lynn was “totally blindsided” by the decision. Her take is that the charity is taking sides in the controversy, and “essentially saying that one person’s mental health struggles are more valid and important than another.”
